Video games, especially made by Obsidian Entertainment and everything I can find with Planescape: Torment, some TV shows, Pacific Rim, social and psychological issues, mythology, literature, things I find funny, brilliant or beautiful.
Feel free to talk.
“There is no truth in the Force. But there is truth in you, exile. And that is why I chose you.”
Kreia is such a badass, and not just because she can kick asses with three flying lightsabers or because she managed to manipulate every character in the game at least once at some point.
“What do you wish to hear? That I once believed in the code of the Jedi? That I felt the call of the Sith, that perhaps, once, I held the galaxy by its throat? That for every good work that I did, I brought equal harm upon the galaxy? That perhaps the greatest of the Sith Lords knew of evil, they learned from me?”
In the universe, where Jedi follow the Force and the Sith try to usurp it, Kreia is the one who rises against it. She literally wants to end the Force, because the Force is a crutch and a shackles at the same time, and a true growth is impossible while it limited by the Force.
“Yes… and what are they without the Force? Take the greatest Jedi Knight, strip away the Force, and what remains? They rely on it, depend on it, more than they know. Watch as one tries to hold a blaster, as they try to hold a lightsaber, and all you will see is nothing more than a woman — or a man. A child.”
In the universe where the Force is Destiny and the God at the same time, Kreia is Lucifer, rebelling for the cause of free will. Some players complain that she disapproves no matter Dark or Light side decisions you make in the game. Of course! It’s because she resents both sides! She wants you to think outside of the box, to think for yourself. And nope, she didn’t “fall and become Darth Traya”, her speech about betrayal was addressed to Atris, she metaphorically passed the title. She herself resents the Dark Side now, it is too weak for her. She is Kreia, and she’s neither Dark nor Light, because in her battles she won the freedom to be herself.
